The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Strategists groups.
Fans can expect finding out which characters will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
